Blind Anglers Tournament gets special boat: Next weekend’s Blind Anglers International Tournament (B.A.I.T.), being held at Nangor Resort in Westmeath, will feature the world’s first fishing boat for use by persons without sight. Lawrence Euteneier, blind since the age of eight, took his 12-foot Porta-bote and equipped it with some specialized technology so that he can fish independently, in this year’s B.A.I.T. The LIONS celebrates 19 year of integrating blind and visually impaired people from across Eastern Ontario, Western Quebec and the upper U.S. The tournament’s goal is to demonstrate abilities rather then disabilities, while throwing in some fun and the opportunity to gain experience from the professionals.
