Canada’s Provincial / Territory Fishing Licences and Exemptions

Alberta: Anglers under 16 years of age, 65 years or older, or a member of the Indian people are not required to purchase a sport fishing license but must follow all sport fishing regulations.  All license holders must also hold a Wildlife Identification Number (WIN).

British Columbia – exempt for resident youth under 16, (non-resident youth must fish with licensed angler), and residents with permanent disabilities can apply for a Non-Tidal Angling Licence at the reduced fee of $1.05.  The fee reduction is for the annual Non-Tidal Angling Licence ONLY. It does not entitle the applicant to a reduction on Conservation Surcharge Stamps, the White Sturgeon Conservation Licence or the Classified Waters Licence.
