Blind Boy from Alabama Comes to Canada

Every so often I get a request from a person without sight who would like me to organize for them a true Canadian fishing adventure. Dirk Price from Alabama, a retired fish biologist and fish hatchery owner/operator, graciously made one such request that I was happy to fulfil.

Dirk and his guide dog joined me for five days of fishing in late May 2013. Our goal was to check off from Dirk’s bucket list a Northern Pike, A Walleye, and a Lake Trout. I’m happy to report that we accomplished the task with flying colours, and put the icing on the cake with Dirk’s catching the largest Pike during the 25th Blind Anglers International Tournament.
